What Is the Venue Maps API?
HERE Venue Maps API returns detailed up-to-date information on geometry, metadata, Points of Interest (POI) and indoor routing. Supported return types are PNG images or JSON.
For a live example of the Venue Maps API, try our HERE WeGo app for Android, which integrates Venue Maps. You can download the app from the Play Store. Try searching for "Mall of Berlin" in Berlin, Germany, to see an example venue map.
Why Use the Venue Maps API?
The Venue Maps API provides the resources that you need to address the following high-level use cases:
|Discover venues in a certain area of the world||Details and properties of the inside and immediate outside of building structures and on multiple floors|
|Get venue map image tiles||Imagery with color-coded floor plan details|
|Get venue map JSON tiles||Meta data associated with a map image tile (which additionally can contain the image data)|
|Get full information of a venue and customize your experience||Detailed information on places inside a venue, such as shops inside a mall, including precise polygon and location data|
