This document describes the JSON schema structure of the Road Network catalog which represents road networks and their corresponding attributes. This catalog is part of the HERE Map Layers collection, which is a collection of HERE owned data catalogs that publish map layers in the GeoJSON format. The layers allow for easy access to high quality versioned and partitioned map data, with globally consistent specification as easy to use building blocks that can be combined with one another to serve multiple use cases. The data is versioned and tiled.
Benefits of working with these data catalogs include:
- Easy access to content.
- Out-of-the-box visualization with readily available tools.
- Simple to understand data structures.
- Data formatting that is aligned with industry standards.
- The ability to identify what has changed in a content layer.
- Standardization of HERE content to a global model.
- Content layers that can be easily combined.
- Simple adjustments to layers to meet new market needs.
The data model is in line with internal standards that enable a single experience across different HERE platforms. General information about catalogs can be found in the Data API.

Data privacy is of fundamental importance to HERE and our customers. We practice data minimization and don’t collect data we don’t need. And we promote pseudonymity for data subjects wherever a service does not require personal information to function. We employ privacy by design in services we develop. We strive to go beyond mere regulatory compliance and make privacy an integral part of our corporate culture. We believe that our approach to privacy is vital to earning and retaining the trust of our customers – and the bedrock of our future success as a data-driven location platform.
